Welcome to the season of the picnic!

Picnic weather is well and truly here and what better way to celebrate than a long lunch on the grass with the people you love. But not using any old picnic set, oh no - we won’t be cobbling together a blanket, a few plates and plastic cups. We’ll be using my new Picnic set created for Chyka Home by Harris Scarfe.

As part of my Chyka Home collection with Harrris Scarfe, this portable picnic basket features 16pce set with cutlery, a bottle opener, napkins and more. With a trolley pull handle, this set is light, versatile and super cute!

5 Picnic ideas to Inspire you

A Delicious Striped Picnic Loaf A picnic loaf is one of those pull together meals that can depend entirely on what you have on hand to create. What I love about this (as well as it’s simplicity) is that once it’s cut into you get this gorgeous stripe of food. It may be a bit of a mouthful to eat, but I can guarantee it’s deliciousness!

An apple inspired setting A picnic is a perfect way to enjoy yourself in the sunshine, a simple way to spend time with your family and a lovely way to ease us back into socialising in our beautiful parklands. I love a theme, and this Spring, I am leaning on the humble apple.

A picnic in France Bruce and I once stayed at Chef Alain Ducasse's fantastic hotel and as a surprise, Bruce organised a picnic for us. I was so excited when a 1950's Chevy truck pulled up into the courtyard of the hotel. It was beautifully maintained and had seats in the back for us to sit in. A waiter from the hotel drove us through lavender fields to the most beautiful tree that was set up for a perfect picnic.

A picnic in a olive grove Lazy hours spent on a blanket chatting, delicious treats to snack on, a few glasses of wine equals an afternoon well spent. So let’s get a little creative and plan the perfect picnic. I’ve taken inspiration from one of my favourite chapters from Chyka Home where I styled a picnic around the delectable Olive.

An Indoor Picnic For A Cold Night Can't get a babysitter, and it’s date night? An indoor picnic can also be an option for those creating a romantic night in. You don’t need much more than a few throws, cushions, and candles, and you are well on your way. So let’s keep it simple, food wise and decor wise. You want to create an intimate space so choose a nook of your home that you don’t usually use; you want to make it fun and an unexpected treat.
