You know I love THIS TIME OF THE YEAR!

…And this Christmas it is just so exciting to be able to set the table for family and friends with pieces from my new collection for Harris Scarfe. Christmas is the perfect time to get creative with your decor, filling those unexpected corners of your home with a festive vignette or two and really going to the next level when it comes to entertaining. Styled with Papertree’s of my Harris Scarfe Festive Collection, ‘Sunday’ 16-Piece Dinner Set and green glass bubble tumblers, when I look at this table I see simple, graphic shapes in a variety of festive greens but when you look closer is when you will discover the beauty in the detailing. Fabric details, a variety of textures from china to velvet to paper, the variation of heights - all the styling tips and tricks have come into play at the time of year I love the most.

We often overlook paper decorations because we don’t want to cheapen the look of our table, but certainly not this decoration collection! Lightweight yet sturdy and fastened by a very handy magnet - these fold-out paper decorations, available in white and green, range from 40cm to 70cm in height and really add a sense of WOW to the table. Putting them together en masse, surrounded with miniature decorative trees really create a beautiful centrepiece, and when placed upon the contrasting gingham placemats and napkins I have created a simple yet stylish Christmas table.

I am absolutely in love with everything gingham at the moment and have continued this gingham theme throughout, from my napkins and placemats to creating my wrapping paper - thankyou to my favourite website zazzle that allows you to create any wrapping paper you desire! And have used gingham again on the ribboned Christmas crackers. Whilst keeping it simple with a palette of bottle green and white, a pop of copper in the way of cutlery adds a level of luxe that is totally suited to the holiday season. The inclusion of bottle green velveteen crackers and a beautifully decorated biscuit from Michelle’s Cookies invites my guests to their seats, and the burning of Balsam Fir incense really creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Christmas is the perfect time to slow down, take time decorating your home and indulge yourself. We have all had a hard few years and now is the time to be there for one another. For those who aren’t feeling the magic and those that don’t celebrate, know that you are not alone and that your friends are there to lean on. A time to check in with friends and family, remembering those who have lost someone special in their life this year and acknowledging it must be hard for them this Christmas and to offer help and support. Be kind to yourself and remember that spending quality time with family and friends is the new luxury.
