You don’t have to spend a fortune on Mother’s Day to let your mum know you love her.

I still have a collection of handmade gifts my kids have made for me over the years. I love them so much, knowing that they have spent their time and energy on these thoughtful little gifts just makes my heart burst. A handmade gift no matter how simple will always be cherished by Mum, so get your kids crafting.

Tea is something that every Mum loves; whether it be a relaxing chamomile at the end of the day or a strong Assam first thing in the morning. There are so many fantastic flavours out there, gorgeous pots you can brew in and tea cups to start collecting. I think this is the perfect Mother’s Day theme, and I have created a few little crafty gifts that I know mum will love.

DIY Tea related gifts to make…

Teacup and Bag Bookmark

For the mum who loves to read, this little DIY could not be any simpler. All you need is some cute printed paper, a piece of string and then simply download the template here, trace & cut out. Buy Mum a new book and place your bookmark inside; you can even add a note to one side of the bookmark to personalise it. You can download the template to make this bookmark right here.

Love notes to mum

Everyone loves getting a little note and how adorable are these? You can make your mini envelopes or buy them (I bought mine from my local $2 shop), a small folded piece of paper and tea bag to attach it to. A hot cup of tea on Mother’s Day with a personalised mini card - who wouldn’t love that?

Teacup pincushion

For the mum who loves to sew this DIY is a little trickier but look how great it is? All you need to do is fill a sweet teacup with stuffing and cover with a dainty embroidered hanky (I bought a pack from Spotlight). Sew it together like it’s a small ball and glue to the inside of the cup. Gift with some threads, pins & measuring tape.

Last minute gifts for mum

Let’s face it; we are not always this organised! So for a last minute gift all you need to do is purchase a lovely cup & saucer and fill it with what mum loves. It can be her favourite chocolates with her tea of choice or even a small plant. The choice is yours, and you are only limited by your imagination.

What are your plans for Mum this Mother’s Day?
