A Sweet & Simple Easter Table Setting

I absolutely love Easter. I especially love cooking a big Easter lunch for family and friends, it is something I look forward to and I think is really fun to do.

I set the table the night before for breakfast using my cabbage cups and saucers with the matching plates, of course. I always have a little Easter egg on each persons setting and make sure that it all looks very sweet and inviting. We usually have hot cross buns from Phillipas as they are my favourite, delicious French butter and a big bowl of berries and muesli. Top that breakfast off with fresh orange juice, a pot of lady grey tea and I'm happy. I am also quite tragic as I have Easter bunny ears for us all to wear and let me tell you - if you are home for easter it doesn't matter if you are a kid or a grown up you are wearing the bunny ears - we all wear them - like it or not.

Lunch is really the main meal of the day so I make sure that I put my slow lamb on about 6 hours before we need it as I think the longer it cooks the better it tastes. Fingers crossed we can sit outside and enjoy a beautiful autumn day, if it is - I set an outdoor table. If it looks like rain may come - we sit indoors. I do the whole green and white story using everything I have collected since the kids were little and add the final touches with an abundance of floral- beautiful parrot tulips in pale pink. If you open my cupboards, the one thing you will see is a huge selection of China! I absolutely love having different collections of beautiful pieces that I can mix and match with. I don't think Bruce knows yet that I've now taken over the guest room cupboards as well! Oh well.....

I hope you all have a safe & happy Easter and let me know who you think does the best hot cross buns?
