After a satisfying meal and a beautiful dessert, what more could you have? Well, these two coffee treats are a sure fire way to end a great night.

Oh, where do I start when it comes to Espresso Martinis? I love them so. It also signals the end of the night for me! They usually come out when its time to go home. They are the perfect little pick me up when you’ve had a long day, the extra spark of caffeine and vodka can hit the spot.

It's a crazy combination, vodka, and espresso but it goes together so well. The story goes... in the late 1980's a bartender was asked for a drink to wake someone up as well as getting them drunk - this was the frothy concoction created. And the rest is history!

Affogato

There is something about mixing hot coffee with ice-cream that is so appealing to all the senses. Its the wow dessert with very little effort that gives you back that little pep in your step! Affogato means “drowned” in Italian, and as the ice cream drowns in the coffee it really is a fantastic way to finish a meal.

Ingredients::

  • One shot of coffee
  • Two scoops of vanilla ice-cream
  • Sprigs of mint

Method::

  1. Serve your ice-cream in a cup, gently pour hot coffee over ice cream, devour!
