Women's Health Week

Women’s Health Week is a week dedicated to all women across Australia to make good health a priority.

And what perfect timing it is to have Women's Health Week this week. With our lives so up in the air at the moment, it gives me great comfort knowing that there is a site I can go to every day this week to be inspired, challenged and connect with other women on topics that affect us all throughout our lives.

Women's Health Week 2021 runs from 6-10 September, with the simple aim of wanting you to put your health first. During the week, Jean Hailes encourages women, communities, and workplaces to get involved by talking about women's health, holding events, sharing health messages and signing up to receive our free daily health information. By signing up, you will gain access to exclusive articles, interviews, recipes, quizzes, podcasts and tips for our daily topics: movement, periods, sexual health, mental health and sleep. Their goal continues to be to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining good health and wellbeing and preventing future health problems for all women and girls in Australia.

How can you get involved?

Women’s Health Week is hosting an assortment of online activities – all centred on improving women's health and helping you to make healthier choices. So jump online, join in and join up - let’s start the week by taking control and setting aside time for your health and wellbeing. Make an appointment for a health check, get active, and connect with family and friends. Good health starts with you.

Like many women I know, focusing on our health and fitness often gets put on the back burner when our lives are too busy and if we have learnt anything over the last 18months, it is that taking care of ourselves is vital. Physically, mentally and emotionally. So why not join in on some of the activities? Follow them on Facebook and Instagram and get involved in a challenge? Getting involved is not only good for your health and wellbeing but maybe the inspiration someone else needs to kickstart their self-care journey.

Want to know more?

In 2013, realising that there was no event dedicated to women's health in Australia, Jean Hailes for Women's Health ran the very first National Women's Health Week. Thousands of women across Australia subscribed to take part in a week of events and online activities, learning more about their health. Now in its ninth year, Women's Health Week continues to gain groundswell nationally. In 2020 (despite COVID-19), more than 90,000 women participated in more than 1400 events, and over 45,000 women subscribed to the online campaign.

Who is Jean Hailes? Jean Hailes for Women’s Health is Australia's leading and most trusted women's health organisation. A national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving women’s health.
