Gift Giving this Easter

Chocolate isn’t always the answer at Easter time!

And as much as I love it, I also love giving gifts that can keep on giving a little bit longer! So let’s step away from tradition this easter time and get creative with our gift-giving. Yes, it may take more time and planning than a quick run into the supermarket for a chocolate bunny, but I promise - your guests will love it!

My theme for Easter is based on the lush green snap pea that matches my new range from Harris Scarfe, so of course, I will push that theme a little further by gifting my Easter guests the real thing! A small planter with snap peas is the perfect way to style your table and the ideal gift for your guest to take home. These are available at Bunnings or your local garden store and not only make the perfect place setting - did you see my Easter table? But they also make the perfect gift. I hope these gifts inspire my guest to plant and watch that little pot grow, reminding them of Easter and our time together. Cute and functional! Another way to do this is with the seed packet itself. Tie a pretty ribbon, and your gifting is done!

An absolute show stopper!

This fantastic cake by the very talented The Butcher’s Daughter is perfect for gifting. Maybe you are attending an Easter lunch and are asked to bring a plate - imagine the look on your friends and family’s faces when you arrive with a bespoke cake! I am in absolute awe of what Hannah is creating in cake form, and this pea-in-a-pod cake made for my Easter table is just incredible, don’t you agree?

I can’t leave chocolate completely off the table!

OK, it can’t be Easter without a little bit of chocolate, so make sure it’s good chocolate! Koko Black always brings out their best at Easter time, and I love that I can mix and match a few sweet things back with my theme. Creating a dessert table after a delicious long lunch is easy; it also invites your guests to nibble rather than have to sit down formally. So let’s keep it casual, style up a spare table or sideboard with a selection of Easter treats and let your guests graze at their will.

I have styled this table with eggs and bunnies from Koko Black, Plates & Mugs from my Harris Scarfe Collection, Cake by The Butchers Daughter, Sweet Pea Botanical Specimen by Aimee Pradel, Large Lacquer Tray by Addison Ross and Rattan Vase from my Harris Scarfe Collection.

When in doubt…

If edible gifts are off the menu, it’s time to get creative. A beautiful cardigan, a handy seed collection for the green thumb or a fun candle is a simple idea that will bring a smile to your guest’s face. It doesn’t have to be extravagant; it can be a small gesture to show you care because that is what matters most this Easter. My love of green doesn’t seem to be fading, so why not keep it all within your colour palette when it comes to gifting?
