5 of My Favourite Christmas Tables

Over the years, you have seen me create quite a few Christmas looks! Like the year of the colourful pom poms or when I have laden the tree with glass decorations. I have created a Christmas table made of silver and baby blue florals and then followed it up the following year with sheets of multicoloured paper made into paper chains. We can style this celebration any way we choose, full of colour or minimal or traditional - however you choose! You are limited by your own creativity, so why not mix it up a little?

A Simple, Classic Festive Table

We often overlook paper decorations because we don’t want to cheapen the look of our table, but certainly not this decoration collection! Lightweight yet sturdy and fastened by convenient fold-out paper decorations, it adds a sense of WOW to the table. Putting them together en masse, surrounded with miniature decorative trees, creates a beautiful centrepiece. When placed upon the contrasting gingham placemats and napkins, I have created a simple yet stylish Christmas table.

Pretty In Pink Pom Pom Table

Putting together this Christmas table was like being in Barbie heaven!. After months of planning, gathering and making pom poms to hang on my Christmas tree, I finally got to work on this pinky-hued Christmas table floating around my head all these months.  I adore how this table has turned out; it's so fresh and gorgeous and goes against the traditional colours and textures we associate with Christmas. I recommend that you, too, think of some different colours to use this Christmas other than all the reds, greens and whites. Choose two or three colours that compliment one another and run with it; who knows what great festive looks you can achieve!?

Take The Non-Traditional Approach

The time of year is so rushed with lunches, dinners, last-minute catch-ups and pop-ins, so I thought I would create some space on my balcony for a Christmas catch-up with friends. One that is simple, not obviously festive, but has just enough sparkle to reflect this season of celebration. Bringing in a non-traditional colour for this season keeps it casual and relaxed; I like it!

Creating a Colourful Christmas

Christmas is the perfect time to get creative with your decor, filling those unexpected corners of your home with a festive vignette or two and going to the next level when it comes to entertaining. When I look at this table, I see simple, graphic shapes in various festive greens, but when you look closer, you will discover the beauty in the detailing. Fabric details, a variety of textures from china to velvet to paper, the variation of heights - all the styling tips and tricks have come into play at the time of year I love the most. We often overlook paper decorations because we don’t want to cheapen the look of our table, but certainly not this decoration collection! Lightweight yet sturdy and fastened by a convenient magnet - these fold-out paper decorations, available in white and green, range from 40cm to 70cm in height and add a sense of WOW to the table. Putting them together en masse, surrounded with miniature decorative trees, creates a beautiful centrepiece. I have made a simple yet stylish Christmas table when placed upon the contrasting gingham placemats and napkins.

Celebrating Christmas In The Garden

In true Chyka fashion, this Christmas table was all about green. Well, all shades of green! From the gradient of green created by baubles cascading down the tree to the place cards, we explore my favourite shade in all its festive glory. Mixing an assortment of products from my Chyka Home range for Harris Scarfe and items from my collections, I created a relaxing outdoor table perfect for an Aussie Christmas lunch.
