An Easter Tradition

Is there anything better than a traditional Easter Sunday lunch?

A time to gather with friends and family, a time to celebrate with lazy days and lots of food. I love the Easter weekend, and every year I find it comes at a time when I really need to recharge and relax, and this year is no different. With my home already exuding a rustic Easter vibe, it is time to focus on the Sunday lunch and create a table that will wow my guests and is a beautiful setting for a long relaxing lunch.

You know I love mixing things up in the house, so my guests can visit and be charmed by the unexpected. Why not get a little creative with your home with these few days off? Find a new space and move the table, rearrange your dining to style up something completely new, or you can always head to this post which shares Five ideas for a special Easter to kickstart your ideas!

Whilst the sun is shining, let’s make the most of it! A fresh outdoor table that uses a DIY table cloth is simply a few metres of fabric from Spotlight and draped over the table. I cannot tell you how often I find myself doing this - If you have all the settings but cannot find the perfect table cloth - head down to your closest fabric store. Browse the bolts of fabric and find yourself the ideal print to compliment your setting - not only is this a cost-saver, but it can really add that special touch and bring the look of your table together.

So with my fabric tablecloth from Spotlight, my cabbage plate collection, bamboo cutlery, sage napery and glassware from Harris Scarfe, I have created a simple setting perfect for welcoming the family. It’s always fun to add some extra details to a celebratory table, items like Rattan bunnies from Rose St Trading Co, rattan baskets full of Kale from H&M home, and how could I forget - a collection of Easter chocolates from Koko Black.

Time For Dessert…

Forget the chocolate when it comes to Easter dessert, there is so much more you can do! From a Chocolate-free Easter Dessert Table to a delicious Carrot Cake or Bunny Mudslide, don’t feel you have to stick with tradition. I contacted the amazing Hannah, creator of The Butchers Daughter for a very special cake that would match my table and boy did she nail the brief! Matching the array of cabbages I used to style my table and home, this cake is nothing short of perfection. With leaves made from painted chocolate and soil from cookie crumble, I could not have wished for a better dessert to serve my guests on this very special day.
